Summer Glowing Makeup

July 9, 2018

Now that it's summer I've been loving to wear a simple and glowing makeup look. I focus mostly on the base, making it look healthy, hydrated and glowy. These are the key products I've been wearing lately for a glowing base

One of my go-tos when it comes to a glowing base is the MAC Cosmetics Strobe Cream. There's so much you can do with this product - you can use it as a primer, mix it in with your foundation for some extra glow, and use it as a highlight on the highest points of the face. Sometimes I do all three of the steps, but most of the time I use this as a primer. You can also get this product in different shades, depending on which shade of glow you want. I have the original shade Silverlite, which reflects as a silver glow.

When I'm doing a glowing makeup look I love using a foundation with sheer to light coverage to let the glow underneath peak through. Lately I've been loving the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. This is a foundation with SPF 15 which gives a flawless natural-skin finish. It also helps to moisturize and boost skin's glow.

To warm up the face I've been using a liquid bronzer. My go-to at the moment is the Makeup Mekka Liquid Bronzer in the shade Sun-Kissed, which gives a glowing and sun-kissed finish to the skin. This liquid bronzer blends like a dream, and is the perfect shade for my pale skin.

For blush I've been loving the MAC Cosmetics Powder Blush in the shade Style. This is a coral-peach blush with golden pearls in it, which looks stunning on the cheeks. I've been wearing this non-stop for months now, and it's become one of my all time favorite blushes.

To give my skin that extra glow I've been using a powder highlighter on the highest points of my face. My go-to lately has been the gorgeous limited edition Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter, which reflects as a light gold. The formula is so smooth, and you can build it up depending on how blinding you want your highlighter to be. Lately I've been applying this product with a cheek brush to give my skin a natural glow.

The Prettiest Eyeshadow Palette

THE PALETTE THAT SCREAMS MY NAME

How gorgeous is the Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette by Anastasia?! If there's a palette that describes me, this is it. I love natural and glammed makeup, and this palette has everything you need when it comes to neutrals, bolds and shimmers to create an everyday simple look, or a glam look. This is the third eyeshadow palette I own by Anastasia, and it's definitely my favorite of them all. The eyeshadow formula is quite similar to the Modern Renaissance palette, and the shadows are buttery, very pigmented, and blends like a dream. The eyeshadows in the palette has a warm undertone, which is perfect for spring and the upcoming summer. This has been the eyeshadow palette that I've been reaching for lately. Wether it's a neutral look or a glam look, I know this palette won't let me down. In other words, this is a huge favorite in my makeup collection, and if you're on the look for an eyeshadow palette that is multifunctional when it comes to different types of looks, I would totally recommend you to check it out!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Today I'm bringing to you a foundation review! I've been getting more into drugstore makeup lately, and I've wanted to try out some new products from the drugstore for a little while now. I went on Lookfantastic and ordered myself some new products, one of them being an old favorite I haven't used for years.

Rimmel Match Perfection is a weightless and smooth foundation with sheer to medium, buildable coverage. The foundation claims to reduce imperfections, pores and dark circles, while giving 24 hours of hydration. The foundation comes with SPF 20, which is great for the spring and summer months coming up, for some extra protection to the skin.

One of my favorite things when it comes to this foundation is the scent. The scent gives me a summer vibe, as it smells like sunscreen, and that's probably thanks to the SPF in it. The texture of the foundation is smooth and weightless, and the formula is more on the thicker side. I noticed, as the foundation is quite hydrating that it's also sticky, so it definitely needs to be set with a powder.

Before & After

My skin isn't at its best at the moment, and I think the foundation did a good job at evening out my skin tone, cover my acne and scars, and blur out my pores. The foundation doesn't feel heavy on the skin, and it feels hydrating. The finish of the foundation is not matte nor dewy, but something in between. I have the foundation in the shade 010 Light Porcelain, and I think the color matches me well, but it's more on the pink side, which doesn't make it a perfect match for my skin tone.

I really love how this foundation performs, and I can tell that it's still a favorite of mine. Last time I used it was back in 2013, and I didn't have the right shade for me, but I used it as often as I could when I was a bit tan. I wish the shade I have now was more on the yellow side, as you definitely can see the difference, but I can make it work, as I think the foundation is so good and worth it!

Have you tried the Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation?

The Perfect High End Bronzer

February 8, 2018

I love discovering new favorites, and the Giorgio Armani Sun Fabric Bronzer is one of the newest favorites in my makeup collection.

Face products, and especially cheek products are some of my favorite makeup products to purchase. I love bronzing up my face, and I never go a makeup look without applying a type of bronzing product to my face. I have been wearing this new favorite bronzer non-stop lately, and it surprises me every time how easily it blends in to the skin and how natural it looks.

The Sun Fabric Bronzer by Giorgio Armani is a sheer velvety-soft bronzing powder that gives a natural sun-kissed glow to the skin. The bronzer comes in four different shades, and I have mine in the lightest shade 100, which is a perfect shade for my pale skin. This bronzer if definitely a dream bronzer of mine - I love the glowing, yet natural finish it gives to my face, the neutral brown undertone, and it blends like a dream! The packaging of the bronzer is so gorgeous, and I love the texturized design of the product itself. The bronzer comes with a tiny rounded flat brush, which is something I haven't tried out as I'm not a huge fan of those brushes. The bronzer is more on the pricey side at $54/430NOK, but I definitely think it's worth it as a little goes a long way with this one.

If you're on the look for a new bronzer and wouldn't mind spending a bit more of money for great quality, I would so recommend you to check out this bronzer!

My Favorite Drugstore Blushes

September 3, 2017

For me, blush is one of the steps in my face routine that makes the whole look complete. Over the years I've found two brands whose blushes I absolutely love. I don't own many blushes as I feel like I can work with the ones I already have in my collection, but if I do get myself a new blush it's usually from these two brands. The brands I'm talking about are MAC Cosmetics and IsaDora. My first ever high-end blush was from MAC, which is still one of my favorites, but I do believe that drugstore products can be just as good as high-end products, and that's how I feel about the IsaDora Perfect Blushes.

The Perfect Blush range by IsaDora has a great shade selection with over 10 shades of pinks, corals, and browns. They come in two different finishes - a matte finish and a pearl finish, where the blush has little specks of shimmers in it, which gives a natural glow to the cheek. The formula is creamy, velvety and soft, giving a flawless looking finish to the cheek. What I love about these blushes are that they're pigmented, but not too pigmented, so it's easy to build up the color. I also love how easy it blends into the skin, and how it gives a fresh look to the face. The quality of these blushes are so amazing, and recently I've been reaching towards these more than my high-end blushes.

Unfortunately, you can only find IsaDora in Europe, Middle East, and Asia according to their website, but if you're lucky to find the brand either in store or online, I would totally recommend getting their blushes as they're so good and affordable.
